Measuring approximately 15in. x 12in. these “Suncatcher” style stained glass window panels are the perfect compliment to any room featuring natural sunlight.

Because of their smaller size, they can be placed almost anywhere inside the home, in bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, patios; anywhere there is a natural light source. The panels are best displayed in front of windows where sunlight can pass through them. As the sun’s rays shine through, the piece transforms its look and creates light paintings on walls, ceilings, floors and furniture depending on the placement and time of day.

Each item is uniquely handcrafted by heartisan Peter Nein and features Brazilian agates and the highest quality glass available including german antique, dichroic, beveled, and iridescent glass. If you desire a panel that is close to the same size we’d be happy to discuss customizing one to suit your needs.

Hand-Crafted Dichroic Glass Pendant Necklace

by Christian Locke on January 12, 2011

This beautiful eye catching pendant is made of dichroic glass which appears to change colors when looking at it from different angles. It can also change colors depending on what color of clothing you are wearing and the hue of the light source it is reflecting.

Dichroic glass contains multiple microscopic layers of metal oxides that cause visible light to be split up into a full spectrum of different colors (wavelengths). It is a wondrous and surreal phenomenon the way this glass can change its colors and its look.

You can be standing away from it and it can look clear but when you reach toward it with your hand the color can change to purple as seen here in the photograph below.

From a distance the pendant can look completely clear, similar to a clear quartz crystal. From a view up close you can see the metal oxides present in the glass causing it to glimmer.

The pendant is approximately 2 inches long and ¼ inch diameter and comes with a black string necklace.

$25.00 + $2.99 S&H

Please allow up to 2-3 business days before your item is shipped.

The Healing Blanket and The Flying Saucers

by Christian Locke on January 6, 2011

A wonderful article appeared in today’s local newspaper The Republican Herald entitled “Local Stained Glass Maker Donates Window to Women’s Shelter.”

The window seen here below entitled “The Healing Blanket and The Flying Saucers” was gifted to the Schuylkill Women in Crisis (SWIC) organization. It was installed late Tuesday in the meditation room inside their Women’s Shelter.

The window features sixteen clear glass pieces of varying style, texture, and design coming together to form a quilt. Throughout the piece run two ribbons which resemble DNA strands. The ribbons are made of clear glass with green glass confetti embedded and clear iridescent glass. Beveled glass circles of varying size and thinly sliced Brazilian agates that give the piece more color are also present in the design.

Yuengling Mansion’s Kris Kringle Mart

by Christian Locke on December 19, 2010

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Kris Kringle Mart at Yuengling Mansion this holiday season! We are incredibly grateful to have had an event of this caliber here in our own beautiful city of Pottsville. Special thanks goes out to Peter and Frederic who put their full heart into decorating the interior and exterior of the Yuengling Mansion Arts Center with some of the finest holiday decorations I have ever witnessed.

The place looked absolutely spectacular and the decorations and designs were nothing less than world class. Thank you to Schuylkill County Vision and Block of Art and the many other participants, vendors, guests, and helpers for being a part of this memorable event.

We also appreciate everyone that stopped by to talk and visit with us at our display near the entrance of the mansion. We received many compliments and lots of interest in the stained glass work of Peter Nein and the fused glass artwork of Elle Keyes. We look forward to doing this again next year. Blessings!

Squigs and The Intimate Ocean Collection

by Christian Locke on October 1, 2010

Now on display at Stonehedge Gardens for October 2010:
Peter Nein’s “Squigs and the Intimate Ocean Collection.”

The collection is comprised of paintings on shaped wood canvas, stained glass hangings, and pictures of the ocean captured by the camera of an apple iphone.

Nein’s “Squig” paintings might be described as abstract and atypical. They feature free flowing line intersecting at various points on the canvas which create unusual geometric shapes filled with patterned colors. The shaped wood canvas is remarkable in that it resembles the painted part of the work.

The collection will be on display at Stonehedge Gardens in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania for the entire month of October.
